Spring Flower Guide

It’s spring-time, and what brightens up the season better than those spring-time flowers! All the colors and scents that come with flowers of the season bring an enlightened and vibrant feel to one of the most energetic seasons of all. The list of flowers that include spring flowers is a long one, so here is a small guide to the flowers of spring, so feel inspired to create your own array of colors and scents in your own backyard using this guide of traditional spring-time flowers.  

A few popular spring-time flowers: 

Crocus: orange-gold or purple plants that bloom early and are very easy to grow (plant in fall for spring-time bloom).
 

Daffodil: yellow and white flowers are used mostly scattered on lawns or hillsides. They multiply quickly and need lots of sun (although they can bear partial sun). 

Hyacinth: purple, blue, white, yellow, and even pink sometimes, these star-shaped flowers have an amazing fragrance, and obviously an array of color and easy to grow in the sun or shade. 

Tulips: tulips come in almost every color, even black and white, and are the most popular spring-time flowers. These easy to grow flowers can be planted in an array of things, from the ground to an old barrel half. 

Grape Hyacinth: these sweet smelling purple and/or white flowers come in grape-like clusters and are often found in pots as well as gardens, and are especially popular for window boxes (plant in fall for spring bloom in a window box).  

One thing to keep in mind when deciding what flowers to plant for spring-time bloom, is whether they are perennials or annuals, they will acclimate to the whether differently and mostly be planted at different times.
