The Texas Outdoor Kitchen

I am turning my kitchen inside-out.  Outdoor kitchens are becoming the thing in Houston Texas, so with the help of a good landscape designer,  I decided to stay in my own back yard and enjoy the kitchen of my dreams.
I chose decorative concrete for my foundation flooring and patterned concrete inlaid with  colorful tile work for the countertops.
I also installed an Italian grill and oven, opted for a stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher with matching sinks and fixtures.
I added a vaulted cedar-beamed roof with ceiling fans that circulate the air and cedar posts with pull-down panels that fasten securely in case of weather changes. All cabinets are cedar lined for their sweet smell and bug resistant properties.
The fire-pit where we once roasted hot dogs or toasted marshmallows has morphed into a fire/water fountain thing of beauty.  This is becoming a very popular look  for  back yard ambiance.
I have always loved camping out but at my age it was becoming more of a trial than a pleasure, so now I no longer have to travel to far-away places to enjoy a vacation experience. I can enjoy the comfort of my own bed and bath by staying in my own back yard.
I now have a clear open view of the pool area as I am no longer shut away in the kitchen cooking while others play. An outdoor shower with a view of my garden completes the transformation.
