When it comes to going green, you don’t have to spend a lot of green to make an impact. There are tons of ways to make great renovations in your home without blowing your budget out of the water. Inexpensive, in this situation, doesn’t mean cheap at all. In fact, many of the renovations that you will find available will likely look pricey and luxurious, not cheap and simple. Don't Break the Bank 
Everyone knows to change light bulbs and other fixtures that are not so energy-savvy. CFL bulbs save people hundreds or thousands of dollars every year on their energy costs, and save hassle as well. They give better light and last for up to 2 years, saving the hassle of the monotonous light bulb changing rituals that we’re all accustomed to. Here are some inexpensive (and NOT cheap) ways to spruce up your home for the environment’s sake.

  2. 2. Wash laundry in cold water. There are plenty of detergent products today designed for cold water use if you prefer them. Normal detergents work fine, also. The point is that about 85% of the energy costs of laundry appliances are in heating the water.


  3. 3. Put a lock on your hot water heater, and turn the temperature down lower. You can buy a piece that will lock the temperature into place where you set it, so that you can only use so much hot water at a time. Then, you’ll learn to use less water and decrease all kinds of bills.
