Boxwoods are evergreen shrubs that require very little maintenance once they are established. The shrubs can be easily shaped to accommodate most any design tastes. Boxwoods also help brightly colored flowers and plants stand out more because of their dark green leaves.

Another way to enhance your Colonial home is by planting some English ivy. This ivy can give your home the look of an English castle if it is trained to climb up the house, a trellis or other structure.
